Alleging that police have tortured the party leaders and activits, BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, "Police conducted raids at the houses of BNP men any time. If they failed to get the targeted person, they picked up the family members."
"Detained BNP men and their family members are being tortured brutally."
He made the statement while speaking at a virtual press briefing on Monday.
Protesting the arrest of BNP Vice Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu on Sunday, Rizvi said that the leaders and activists of opposition parties, including BNP and the public, are now passing days of extreme crisis than the miserable days of 1971.
