The massive fire at the BM Container Depot at Sitakunda in Chittagong has finally come under control after frantic efforts of firefighters for 25 hours.
However, black smoke is still coming out from different places of the depot. Firefighters were still working to fully douse the fire, said Anisur Rahman, deputy director of the divisional fire service.
He said the fire was brought under control after 10pm on Sunday.
Around 25 units of the fire service and civil defence are working to put out the fires while around 250 members of the Bangladesh Army army are working on rescue operations.
At least 49 people have been killed so far and over 450 injured in the fire caused by the explosion in Chittagong late on Saturday night.
Three probe panels, including a nine-member local administration committee to probe the incident.
