Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury today said that Canada is monitoring the situation in Bangladesh prior to the national elections.
The situation of Canada and Bangladesh is like with America, the upcoming elections are being closely monitored, said Amir Khasru while talking to reporters following a meeting with the Canadian High Commissioner Lilly Nicholls in Dhaka.
The hour-long meeting started at 1pm on Thursday at the BNP chairperson's office in Gulshan.
Chief Political Counsellor of the Canadian Embassy Bradley Coates is present in the meeting.
Among the BNP leaders, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury and Organising Secretary Shama Obaid are also attending the meeting.
