A total of 106 gold biscuits weighing 14.296kg were recovered from a house in West Bengal's Nadia district on Saturday night.

India's Border Security Force (BSF) and Director of Revenue Intelligence launched the drive at Vijaypur village of Nadia, which shares a border with Bangladesh, on Saturday night and recovered the gold.

Two persons, including the owner of the house, were arrested in this connection, BSF said.

The arrestees have been identified as Rabindranath Biswas and Vidhan Ghosh.

The arrestees said they got the contraband from two Bangladeshis on Saturday morning and they were supposed to hand it over to someone at Gede in the same district, BSF added.

The estimated valued of the gold is around 8.5 crore Indian rupees.
