Leaders and activists of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its associate bodies are started gathering at Suhrawardy Uddyan with small processions.
Besides the capital, a large number of Jubo Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal and Chhatra Dal men from the surrounding districts are also thronging at the venue to join the rally.
The presence of activists is increasing as the day progresses. All preparations have already been completed including the makeshift stage for the rally.
The rally is scheduled to begin at 2pm.
The party called the programme to drum up the young generation's support for their one-point demand including holding the next polls under a caretaker government.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will address the programme as the chief guest and give the youth various directions to intensify the ongoing one-point movement.
Additional police personnel were seen in and around the Suhrawardy Udyan.
