BNP has called a dawn-to-dusk hartal for Thursday (August 4) in protest against the killing of district Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) president Noor-e-Alam.
Bhola district BNP president Golam Nabi Alamgir announced the hartal on Wednesday (August 3).
Besides, the party flags will be kept half-mast, party leaders and workers will wear black badges, and black flags will be hoisted at the party offices across the country on that day.
Bhola district JCD president Noor-e-Alam who was injured during BNP-police clash in Bhola town on Sunday (July 31) succumbed at Comfort Hospital at Green Road in the capital at about 3:10pm on Wednesday (August 4).
Besides, Swecchasebak Dal worker Abdur Rahim was killed and 30 others injured during the clash when police obstructed the BNP's demonstration in front of the party's district office on Sunday morning.
BNP arranged the demonstration in protest against raising oil and gas prices, and load-shedding of power. At one stage of the clash, police opened fire at BNP leaders and workers.
Following the clash, police filed two seperate cases mentioning the names and citing over 400 unidentified leaders and workers.
