Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader has said BNP has indulged in unethical and dirty politics. Bangabandhu's Bangladesh is not safe in their hands. "So, we must have to take oath to resist the patron of militancy and communal force like BNP," he said.
Quader, also the Road Transport and Bridges minister, was speaking at a joint meeting of the presidents and general secretaries of Dhaka City North and South Awami League and associate organisations at the party's central office at 23 Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital on Sunday afternoon.
Quader said, "Election will not stop by any kind of sanction or restriction. We have no headache about the sanction. Foreigners are our friends, not masters. BNP indulges in sick politics. BNP will get defeated if Awami League remains united."
The Awami League general secretary said since nothing is mentioned about caretaker government in the country's constitution, BNP will resort to the US visa policy.
"Now, it is time to see about America's steps about those who will appear as an obstacle to a free and fair election. Awami League wants a free, fair and impartial general election, but the BNP is conspiring to foil the election," he said.
