Awami League (AL) does not change its policy by giving permission to Jamaat for holding rally after a decade, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said.
He made the remark after joining a programme marking the 18th anniversary ceremony of highway police at Rajarbagh in Dhaka on Sunday afternoon.
Home Minister said, “Jamaat is an unregistered party. Many unregistered parties of the country organize different programmes. Unregistered political parties can hold their meetings indoors.”
They (Jamaat) wanted to hold an indoor rally, and the DMP Commission gave permission for the rally after assessment, he added.
Kamal said, “AL does not change its policy. Any unregistered party can hold their meeting indoor.”
