A CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver was killed and its two passengers were injured after an unidentified vehicle hit it in Dhaka's Banani area early Friday.
The deceased was identified as Shahidul Islam (50), hailing from Jashore Sadar upazila.
The injured--Malati Rani, 45, and her son Biswajit, 30, are now undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
The unidentified vehicle hit the auto-rickshaw carrying the victims from behind near Army Stadium around 2:00am, leaving the driver and passengers injured, said sub-inspector Jubaidul Islam of Banani Police Station
Later, police took them to the DMCH where duty doctors declared Shahidul dead around 3:00am, he said.
