Architect Mubasshar Hussain passed away at a hospital in Dhaka early today.
He breathed his last at Bangladesh Specialized Hospital around 1:30 am today, Architect Iqbal Habib told.
Mubasshar had been undergoing treatment at the ICU of the hospital for the last two months, he said.
His body will be taken to the Institute of Architects Bangladesh at Architect Mazharul Islam Road at 12:00pm so that people can pay rich tribute to him.
The body will be donated to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) after namaz-e-janaza following Zohr prayer.
Mubasshar completed his bachelor's degree in architecture from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
He was the chief architect of Assoconsult Ltd and former president of Institute of Architects Bangladesh.
His notable works include Proshika Bhaban, Grameen Bank Bhaban and Chittagong Railway Station.
