The Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the Dhaka Elevated Expressway on the Airport-Farmgate route for vehicular movement in September.
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader revealed these this after inspecting the construction work of the 19.73 km expressway in Kawla area adjacent to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital on Saturday.
He also informed the media that motorcycles and three-wheelers will not be allowed to run on the elevated expressway.
He also said that within December this year the project’s work till Farmgate ramp would be completed.
The much-anticipated four-lane 19.73 km Dhaka elevated expressway is being constructed under Public Private Partnership (PPP) method to ease vehicular movement in and around the capital.
The government has undertaken the elevated expressway project to connect the capital to the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway (Kutubkhali).
