Twelve days have passed since the abduction, but still the abducted Russell has not returned. Md Safiqul Islam Russell (27) has not been found despite the rescue efforts of the administration. His family-his family-relatives are worried about what happened to him.

Chittagong Hill Citizens Parishad and Russell Freedom Parishad held a protest march in Khagrachari on Monday morning in this incident. They circled of the main road of the city and held a rally by blocking the road at Shapla square, the main point of the city, demanding the release of Russell.

From the rally, the two organizations announced a strict morning-evening hartal in Khagrachari on Tuesday, 21 November 2023. At the same time, if the abducted Russell is not returned, the Chittagong Hill Tracts Citizens Parishad has called for a strike in three hill districts on Wednesday. Later, the organizations warned of more stringent programs.

He went missing from the Eight Mile area on November 9 this month. Family sources said that she might have been abducted for showing the garden. Shafiqul Islam Russell, a tree trader, came out of the house to see the garden.

After that, when he did not return home, at one stage of inquiry through various means, the miscreants did not return Russell even after paying the demanded amount to get his brother back. As 12 long days have passed since the abduction, anxiety has settled in his family. Russell's family is spending days in worry.

Rajiv, the brother of the abducted Russell, said that even after going door to door, the administration has not been able to find any trace of his brother. A general diary is also made by the family at the police station. Therefore, Rajiv, the brother of the abducted Russell, expressed his desire to get his brother back safely with the sincere efforts of the concerned authorities.

Meanwhile, after the end of the 48-hour ultimatum demanding the release of Russel unharmed from the protest march and assembly in Khagrachari to protest the abduction and demand for his release, the agenda continues.

Although his family blamed the regional organization under the control of the area for this incident, the leaders of the organization denied it. He was abducted from Ruchi Chandra Karbaripara area of eight mile area of Khagrachari after noon last Thursday. In between, the kidnappers stopped communicating with Shafiqul after taking a ransom of about one and a half lakh taka by calling him from his mobile phone.

In this incident, Khagrachari Police Superintendent Mukta Dhar said that the police are working to rescue the missing Russell with utmost importance. The investigation is ongoing and the criminals will not be spared, he said, seeking everyone's cooperation in finding Russell.
