The dengue death toll continues its toll as 15 more patients died from the mosquito-borne disease in the country in the last 24 hours till Thursday.
According the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) with the latest death, a total of 1,370 people died of dengue to date this year.
Some 1,728 new patients were admitted to different hospitals across the country.
Currently, 6,270 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital.
Of them, 1,762 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 4,508 are in other divisions.
As many as 2,74,806 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.
Some 2,67,166 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
The country recorded 281 dengue deaths in 2022 following 179 casualties in 2019.
Additionally, the DGHS recorded 62,423 dengue cases and 61,971 recoveries last year.
