149 bottles of Indian liquor have been
recovered and 6 accused have been arrested in separate raids by police and DB in
separate raid in Netrakona. Meanwhile, 1 private car used in drug dealing was
seized.
On Sunday 100 bottles of Indian liquor
were recovered in a raid by the Purbadhala police station of the district, 24
bottles in a DB raid in Kalmakanda and 35 bottles in a raid by the Barhatta
police station. Meanwhile, a private car used in drug dealing was seized from
Purbadhala. Additional Superintendent of Police Lutfar Rahman confirmed this
information to Netrakona Journal.
According to police sources, Md Hriday
Khan Shawon (20), son of Md Afaz Uddin, son of Md Aynal Haque, Md Abu Taher Mia
(32), son of Md Rafiqul Islam, were killed in the police operation at
Purbadhala police station, Sripur upazila of Gazipur district. Rabbi Hossain
alias Shariful (32) was arrested along with 100 bottles of Indian liquor,
private car and filed a case at Purbadhala police station. Later the learned
court was arraigned. On the other hand, a smart team of Detective Branch (DB)
of Netrakona district led by SI Mazharul Islam today at around 6:30 a.m. on the
basis of secret information, Md. Mizan Mia (23), son of Abul Kalam Azad, son of
notorious drug dealer Abul Kalam Azad of Am Chola village of Gaurpur upazila of
Mymensingh district, was arrested from Buruakona market of Rangchati union
under Kalmakanda police station. ) and arrested Md. Masud Mian (22), son of Md.
Sabdul Mian of Kalmakanda upazila of the district. Meanwhile, 24 bottles of
Indian Black Pure Deluxe Whiskey, 750 ml in their custody were recovered and
seized. Later, a regular case was filed under the Narcotics Control Act at
Kalmakanda police station against the arrested drug prisoners.
Meanwhile Barhatta Thana Police conducted
a raid at Udighi village on Kalmakanda Gami road from Thakurkona of upazila and
recovered 35 (thirty five) bottles of imported banned Indian at around 1 am.

Later, a case (FIR No-06 of Barhatta
Police Station, Tang-05/11/2023, Section-25(e) of Special Powers Act of 1974)
was registered and the accused was sent to the learned Court.
Netrakona District Police Media Spokesperson Additional Superintendent of Police Lutfar Rahman said that we will continue this special operation to eliminate drugs in the district.
