Bangladesh women's cricket team sealed the three-match ODI series against Pakistan by 2-1 with a seven-wicket victory in the third ODI after the record-highest opening partnership between Fargana Hoque Pinky and Murshida Khatun.

They put on 125 runs together in reply to Pakistan's 166 at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka on Friday.

The previous highest stand was a 113-run stand by Shukhtara Rahman and Sharmin Akhter in 2011 against Ireland.

Fargana struck 62 off 113, laced with five fours while Murshida scored a 106-ball 54 with six fours.

Skipper Nigar Sultana Joty and batter Sobhana Mostary took the Tigresses over the ropes with unbeaten 18 and 19 respectively.

Nashra Sandhu was the only successful bowler from Pakistan taking two wickets conceding 27 runs in 10 overs.

Earlier, Pakistan managed to post 199 runs on the board losing nine wickets in 50 overs despite a brilliant 143-ball 84 from Sidra Ameen at the top.

However, the visitors could not get a bigger score as they lost quick wickets after the halfway point in their innings.

Left-arm spinner Nahida Akter was the pick of the bowlers from the Bangladesh side with three wickets for 26 runs while leg-spinner Rabeya Khan got two wickets for 35.

The Tigresses had begun the series with a batting collapse in the first ODI. But they level the series in the second game following a Super Over win.
