The former leaders of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP)-- Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury and Taimur Alam Khondokar – were made chairman and secretary general respectively of newly formed Trinamool BNP.
Besides, Advocate Antara Selima Huda, daughter of Nazmula Huda, has been elected as the executive chairperson of the party.
Former BNP vice-chairman Shamsher M Chowdhury had played an important role for the party in diplomatic arena as he was a professional diplomat before joining politics.
BNP chairperson’s advisory council former member Taimur Alam Khondokar, who was recently sacked from the party for participating in local government election ignoring party decisions, also played an important role in BNP’s field politics.
They got the responsibility in a council session of the Trinamool BNP held at Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh in Ramna of the capital on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Trinamool BNP established by former BNP leader Nazmul Huda got registered with the Election Commission as a political party following a court order, in February this year.
The Election Commission said electoral symbol of the party will be ‘golden fiber’.
