They demanded exemplary punishment to those who attacked the hospital and also asked the authorities to ensure security.

MGM Shahriar, a fourth year student of the Marketing Department, died after falling from the third floor of Shahid Habibur Rahman Hall on Wednesday around 8pm.

Shahriar died while undergoing treatment in ward No 8 at RMCH.

Following his death, the agitated students ransacked the hospital, alleging negligence on the part of the doctors. Later, students vandalized the hospital grounds while being chased by police inside the facility.

The protesting students demonstrated in front of the hospital.

According to the agitating students, when Shahriar was taken to the hospital in a critical condition, the officials asked him for various documents including the signatures of the vice-chancellor of the university.
