The ongoing intense heatwave will relief the countrymen after three days as rain is likely to start from April 19, said the Met Office in a weather bulletin on Sunday.

The rain is likely to begin in the eastern part of the country from April 19, while the whole country after April 23.

Severe heatwave has gripped Khulna division, and Dhaka, Faridpur, Kushtia, Manikganj, Rajshahi, Pabna and Patuakhali districts.

The highest temperature recorded in the capital on Sunday is 41.1 degrees Celsius, which was 40.4 degrees Celsius on Saturday.

Day temperature may remain nearly unchanged and night temperature may rise slightly over the country, said a Met office bulletin.
