Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said on Wednesday that the police commissioner will decide where BNP will hold its October 28 rally.
Stating that no party has yet been given permission to hold rally, the Home Minister said that the police commissioner knows the matter of BNP's request for holding the rally.
Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said this to reporters after an inter-ministerial meeting at secretariat today.
Responding to a question about the close of Dhaka's entranceway, Asaduzzaman Khan said, "Why will the government close the entrance to Dhaka on October 28? People will come to Dhaka for business purpose, job purposes. Many come from outside Dhaka for office. So, why should we close the road to Dhaka? If they (BNP) take positions at a fixed place and leave, the government will not create any barriers.
"We didn't give permission, we don't give them any permission. Till now, Jamaat-e-Islami is not a registered party. Therefore, if they come under the banner of Jamaat-e-Islam, then there is no question of giving them permission.
