The International Cricket Council (ICC) accused Bangladesh cricketer Nasir Hossain of corruption.

The highest controlling body of international cricket received a complaint from the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) against eight people. The name of Nasir was one of them.

According to the complaint, Nasir allegedly breached three anti-corruption sections during the T10 League in Abu Dabi in 2021 by receiving gifts from a suspected person while playing for Pune Devils.

Nasir failed to provide information to the investigating officers about taking gifts more than worth USD 750 under section 2.4.3.

Under section 2.4.4, he failed to clarify whether he got any proposal of corruption or match-fixing and whether he had been induced in any way.

Section 2.4.6 charged him for failing to provide information on the investigation of corruption in which he was allegedly involved or refusing to help in the inquiry.

Apart from Nasir, two assistant owners of the team Krishan Kumar Chowdhury, Parag Sanghvi, batting coach Ashar Zaidi, local player Rizwan Javed, assistant coach Siliya Saman and team manager Shadab Ahmed were accused of the incident.

Nasir Hosain, who became a 'former' in the Bangladesh national team due to indiscipline, is now playing domestic cricket regularly.
