Gold prices have been lowered by Tk 2,916 per bhori. Now, the price of each bhori, equivalent to 11.664 grams, has come down to Tk 79,548.
The same standard of gold was sold at Tk 82,466 per bhori over the last five days.
Bangladesh Jewellers Samity (Bajus) fixed the new price of gold a meeting held on Thursday (May 26) after the fall in gold prices in the global market and decline in prices of foreign currencies including US dollar.
The revised prices will be effective from Friday, said a Bajus in a press release on Thursday.
The price of 22-carat gold per bhori will now stand at Tk 79,548, which was Tk 82,464 earlier.
