Sujan Miah, who has been involved in multiple cases and is associated with the Directorate of Primary Education, has been apprehended by the authorities. Our own reporter confirms that this individual, notorious for committing fraud and embezzling millions of rupees nationwide under the guise of providing employment in registered primary schools, has been convicted in numerous cases. Sujan Mia, also known as Aptu or Qutub (41), was arrested by the Paltan police station. The arrest took place on Monday afternoon in the Paltan area of the capital.
The detained Sujan Mia was previously employed as an MLSS (Multi-tasking Staff) in the Government Computer Personnel Scheme within the Directorate of Primary Education, as well as serving as the Vice President of the Bangladesh Karmachari Kalyan Federation. He is the son of the late Mohammad Zainal Uddin and Phul Meher, hailing from Sarsingdi Sadar Police Station No. 346 Velanagar.
It is worth noting that the government nationalized 126,000 registered private primary schools in 2013. Exploiting this nationalization process, Sujan Mia and his syndicate illicitly added names of new job applicants to the teachers' registration list, bypassing the necessary protocols and without notifying the authorities or the media. They then extorted millions of rupees from unsuspecting individuals, falsely promising them employment in primary schools.
Sujan Mia has faced legal consequences for his actions, including a case of dishonored checks in the Narsingdi District Judge Court in 2017. Additionally, he has been sentenced in multiple courts, including the Naogaon Sessions Judge Court (Pateetala) for CR Case No. 283/C, /2019 Session 2176/2019, and CR Case No. 284/2019 (Pateetala) 2177/2019. Remaining on the run for an extended period, Sujan Mia was ultimately apprehended by SI Manjurul Islam of the Paltan Police Station, who handed him over to the Narsingdi Model Police Station.
