BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir filed a
petition with a Dhaka Court on Wednesday seeking bail in 10 cases filed with
Paltan and Ramna Police Stations.
His lawyer Sayed Jaynul Abedin Mizbah submitted the application
before a Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court.
Of the 10 cases, seven were filed with the Paltan Police Station
and three with the Ramna Police Station.
Mirza Fakhrul was produced before a court of Dhaka Metropolitan
Magistrate Shafi Uddin on October 29 showing him arrested in the Chief
Justice's residence attack case. The investigation officer of the case then
pleaded to keep Fakhrul in jail till the investigation.
Meanwhile, Fakhrul's lawyer sought bail. After arguments from both sides, the court sent Mirza Fakhrul to jail rejecting bail prayer.
