The Digital Security Act (DSA) will be not be repealed, but amended by September, Law Minister Anisul Huq said on Wednesday.
"Eliminating problems of DSA, it will be made for universal law. Sheikh Hasina will never take away the freedom of the press. The DSA was not created to undermine the freedom of the press but to ensure cyber security."
The Law Minister said these at a programme held by Transparency International Bangladesh on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day.
He said a committee is working on amending the law.
"We have nearly completed reviewing the technical recommendations on the law sent by the UN human rights agency."
