BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Friday visited the house of slain Jubo Dal activist Raja Ahmed Shaon, who was shot dead during a clash between BNP and police on Thursday in Narayangang.

He reached Shaon’s house at Nabinagar Bazaar in the city at around 12:12pm.

Mirza Fakhrul consoled Shahon’s mother and two brothers during the visit. The BNP secretary general also visited the grave of slain Jubo Dal worker and offered Fatiha and doa.

Mentioning the police administration, the BNP secretary general said do not shoot people as like hunting the birds.

Fakhrul said, “Police are telling lies. It is confirm that Shaon died in police firing. They cannot in any way deny the responsibility of killing Shaon.”

He said Shaon was engaged with politics of Jubo Dal, and he was a worker of the organization which is already proved. “Police have no right to shoot a person dead in broad daylight even if he is not a politician.”

BNP executive committee’s Dhaka division organizing secretary Advocate Abdus Salam Azad, assistant international affairs secretary Nazrul Islam Azad, central committee member Mostafizur Rahman Bhuiyan Dipu and Narayanganj BNP organizing secretary Advocate Abu Al Yusuf Khan Tipu were present at that time.

On Thursday morning, BNP leaders and activists locked in clash with police in No-2 Rail gate area of Narayanganj city.

Jubo Dal worker Shaon was shot and more than dozens of people were injured during the clash.

Later, Shaon was taken to the hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
