Ireland found themselves in trouble after losing four quick wickets in their second innings against Bangladesh on Wednesday in the Dhaka Test.

Bangladesh had taken a commanding 155-run first-innings lead after posting 369 in reply to Ireland's first-innings total of 214.

Shakib Al Hasan struck first, removing James McCollum for a first-ball duck. Within 13 runs, he took another wicket, while Taijul Islam took two more.

In Bangladesh's first innings, Mushfiqur Rahim hit a century, while Shakib scored 87. For Ireland, Andy McBrine took six wickets, becoming the first Irish spinner to take five or more wickets in a Test innings.

In Ireland's first innings, Harry Tector hit a fifty, but they were outplayed by Taijul, who bagged five wickets, his 11th five-for in Tests.
