The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court has ordered to follow strictly the High Court verdict that banned rallies and processions on the court premises.

At the same time, the top court set October 19 for holding the hearing on an allegation of contempt of court against seven BNP-backed lawyers, including former attorney general AJ Mohammad Ali.

On Monday (August 28), Justice Md Khasruzzaman and Justice Md Khairul Alam left the courtroom amid a commotion between Awami League and BNP-backed lawyers following a court order to remove BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman's statements from online. Later, the two Justices started the court proceedings after over three hours.

The same bench ordered Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) to remove BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman's all speeches from online.
