Two BNP activists have been arrested in police constable Mohammad Amirul Islam Parvez murder case.
The arrestees are identified as Shamim Reza and Mohammad Sultan.
Police on Sunday arrested Shamim from Gaibandha district and Sultan from Dhaka’s Demra area.
Police said, Shamim is the convener of Palashbari Municipality Jubo Dol and Sultan is a BNP activist.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) media and PR division confirmed the matter in the afternoon.
Police said that the duo was arrested for their direct involvement in the killing of Constable Amirul Islam Parvez during a clash with BNP in Fakirapool on Saturday.
Parvez, hailing from Daulatpur upazila of Manikganj, succumbed to his injuries after a clash with BNP men in Fakirapool intersection in the capital.
