Lawyer Bhuvan Chandra Sheel, who was earlier injured by bullet by armed miscreants in Tejgaon Industrial area of the capital while returning home, succumbed to his injuries on Monday morning at a hospital in the city.

He died around 10:35am while on life support at Dhanmondi Popular Hospital, said Taposh Majumder, relative of the deceased.

The body will be sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) morgue for autopsy, he added.

Bhuvan Chandra Sheel underwent a surgery on his brain on September 22 at the hospital. At that time, the doctors said that his brain was responding only four per cent when those bullets were removed. It is in danger of becoming inactive.

The condition of Bhuvan Chandra had been deteriorating since Sunday morning. Then the physicians said hi is not responding.

At night of September 18, a gang of miscreants, riding on motorcycles, fired indiscriminately at a private car carrying Tarik Sayed Mamun, an alleged top terrorist; and two of his associates Khokon and Mithu near City Petrol Pump and BG Press in Tejgaon. Bhuvan Chandra Sheel was also injured by that bullet while he was crossing them by his motorbike on way to home.

Later, Bhuvan's wife filed a murder case with Tejgaon Police Station accusing some seven to eight unnamed persons.
