Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader has said BNP is conspiring to oust a constitutional and elected government from power.
In sequel to it, BNP has resorted to hooliganism in the country in the name of movement. At the same time, they have been complaining against Bangladesh to international agencies and friendly countries, he said.
Quader made the allegations in a statement sent to the mass media on Monday (August 29).
He said Awami League leaders and activists are facing the situation with patience. Taking advantage of it, BNP has constantly been provocating its leaders and acitivists to destabilise the country's political atmosphere by putting them on street. BNP is trying to destabilise the situation in the country by resorting to create a reign of terror and anarchy.
Obaidul Quader said a global economic crisis has created throughout the world due to Covid-19 pandemic and war in Europe. BNP is conspiring to create terrorismand destabilise the country through their so-called movement when the government has constantly been trying to face the economic crisis along with people.
"We want to state it unequivocal terms that no scope will be given to BNP to destabilise the country's political situation through movement. The government is determined to protect the people's lives and property, ensure public safety and security, and maintaining a peaceful and stable situation in the country," he said.
