Dhaka City (South) Chhatra League vice-president Delwar Hossain Shahedi has been placed on a two-day remand by a court in Dhaka.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohona Alamgir passed the order on Friday (May 20) afternoon.
Producing the accused Shahedi before a court, the investigation officer (IO) pleaded to the magistrate to place him on a 15-day remand in connection with three cases filed under possessing drug and arms, and beating RAB personnel. After the hearing, Shahedi was placed on a two-day remand in the arms case, while did not approved remand in drug case. Besides, the remand prayer was not accepted in the case related to beating the RAB.
Earlier on Thursday night, RAB filed two cases against Delwar Hossain Shahedi on Thursday night.
RAB conducted a drive at Sabujbagh police station area after Wednesday midnight receiving complaints that some people got involved in extortion using the home minister's name. At that time, BCL leader Shahedi was arrested.
RAB also seized a foreign made pistol. a magazine, two rounds of bullet, and 578 yaba pills. Then the RAB launched their operation with the help of Shahedi.
