Bangladesh has welcomed the finalisation of the peace agreement between the United States and Iran, describing it as a positive step towards regional and global stability.
“Bangladesh has consistently been calling for de-escalation and resolution of the conflict through dialogue and diplomacy and appreciates the efforts of all parties and facilitators that contributed to this positive development,” according to a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday (15 June).
Bangladesh voiced hope that the agreement would be implemented in good faith and prove both durable and sustainable.
Bangladesh reiterated its belief that peace and stability in the Middle East are essential for regional and global peace, security and development.
Bangladesh also encouraged all parties to build on the momentum created by the agreement and address any remaining issues through continued dialogue and diplomatic engagement.
The statement further expressed hope for the early restoration of regional calm, the smooth functioning of supply chains and enhanced cooperation across the region.The peace agreement between Washington and Tehran marks a significant diplomatic breakthrough following a prolonged period of tensions, and has been widely viewed as an important development for stability in the Middle East.
