Sourodip Paul and Sajid Asbat Khandaker of Brac University A have clinched the championship title of the Belgrade World Universities Debating Championship (WUDC) 2022.
They are the first team from any Asian country to have achieved this honour at WUDC which is often referred to as the world cup of debating.
Before reaching the finals, Sourodip and Sajid were ranked fifth in the Open Category, breaking the previous record which was also held by the dynamic duo.
Princeton University, National University of Singapore, and Ateneo de Manila University were their opponents in the open final.
The final debate on “Reducing the global reliance on the US dollar” was streamed live on the Belgrade WUDC Live Streams Facebook page.
