Along with heroin worth crores of taka top drug dealer and UP member Jewel Rana along with female accomplices have been arrested in Chapainawabganj.

In yesterday morning, they were arrested by the Narcotics Control Department at Belepukur in Chapainawabganj municipal area.

The arrested Jewel Rana is a member of Ward No. 3 of Charbagdanga Union Parishad of Chapainawabganj Sadar Upazila and is the son of Amir Ali of Charbagdanga. His female associate Babita is the wife of Mukul Rana of Parbartipur-Sherpur of Gomstapur Upazila. Babita lives on rent in Balubagan in the municipal area due to her job.

Eliyas Hossain, Inspector (K Circle) of Chapainawabganj Narcotics Control Department said, based on secret information; a team of Narcotics Control Department raided Balubagan and arrested Babita along with 750 grams of heroin. Jewel Rana was the owner of that heroin. Later, based on the information provided by Babita, Narcotics Control Department officials raided Jewel's home in Belepukur and arrested her along with 200 grams of heroin.

He said that Jewel Rana is the top drug dealer listed by the Narcotics Control Department. He has several drug cases against him. In this incident, a case has been filed against the woman along with them at the Sadar Model Police Station.
