National Technical Advisory Committee on COVID-19 has recommended inoculating the fourth vaccine dose to elderly persons aged above 60, frontline freedom fighters and pregnant women.

Dr Shamsul Haque, member secretary of the Vaccine Deployment Committee of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), said this to media on Wednesday.

He also said mass booster dose campaign will continue across the country from December 1-7. The government's aim to inoculated around 90 lakh people.

The fourth vaccine dose for elderly persons aged above 60, frontline freedom fighters and pregnant women will be given soon.

A total of 87 per cent people in the country have been received the first vaccone dose, 73 per cent received the second one while 53 per cent the third one.
