A total of 440 people were killed in separate accidents across the country during the Eid-ul-Azha, according to a report of Bangladesh Jatri Kalyan Samity.
It said at least 398 people were killed and and 774 injured in 319 road accidents in Bangladesh in 15 days (July3-17) during the Eid journey.
Mozammel Hoque Chowdhury, secretary general of the organisation, revealed the information at a press conference at Dhaka Reporter's Unity on Tuesday.
He said a total of 440 people were killed and 791 injured in 354 accidents across the country.
As many as 131 people died in 113 motorcycle accidents, which is 35.42 per cent of the total fatalities, the reports said.
