The flood situation in Cox's Bazar remains unchanged due to heavy rains, hill floods and tidal waters. However, as the rainfall has decreased slightly, the water has started to recede in some places. The water has not receded in most places yet. As a result, the flood victims are in extreme distress due to waterlogging. They claim that even though they are waterlogged, food aid has not yet reached them.
As far as the eye can see, there is only water and water. Heavy rains and hill floods have disrupted public life in most areas of Chakaria upazila of Cox's Bazar. The picture of Lakshyachar union in the upazila is exactly like this. Schools, colleges, union councils have been submerged along with houses. This scene is not limited to Lakshyachar. Vast areas of Surajpur-Manikpur, Koiyarbil, Boritali, Harbang, Phansiakhali, Dulahazara and Khutakhali unions in the upazila have been submerged in water. About 4 lakh residents of the 40 unions in the district are under water.
However, the rain has reduced somewhat compared to the last few days, and the water has started to recede in some places. However, most of the people in the area are still under water.
The flood victims of Lakshyarchar Union claim that despite being under water for almost a week, food aid has not yet arrived. They are suffering from a shortage of clean water and food.
According to the District Water Development Board, the water of the Matamuhuri River is flowing below the danger level at Lama Point and Chiringa Point in Cox's Bazar.
