Two shells fired from Myanmar military aircrafts fell on Bangladesh border area in Bandarban district.
Confirming the matter, superintendent of Bandarban police (SP) Tariqul Islam said, "The incident occurred around 9:30am at Ghumdhum area of Naikhongchhari upazila. Law enforcers are on high alert after the incident."
Police and local sources said that two Myanmar military aircrafts and two fighting helicopters were patrolling in between BGB-BOP border pillars no 40-41 in Ghumdhum area. Then 8-10 shells were fired from the military planes. Two of them fell some 120 metres inside Bangladesh.
Besides, the helicopters were also seen firing some 30-35 bullets.
Meanwhile, two mortar shells were also hurled on Bangladesh border.
Earlier on August 28, two heavy mortar shells fired from Myanmar landed on the Bangladesh border in Tumbru of Bandarban.
