Customs Intelligence officials recovered 16 gold bars weighing around 1.856 kilograms at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Sunday night.
The gold bars were recovered from inside the pipes under the two seats of a plane of Biman Bangladesh Airlines after conducting a 12-hour long raid, customs sources said.
Acting on a tip-off, they conducted the search operation after the flight of BG-348 landed at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport from Dubai around 6:38am, sources added.
The estimated price of the gold bar is Tk 1.4 crore.
