State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain has said some 3 lakh 55 thousand 854 posts have remained vacant in public administration.
He came up with this information in reply to a question of lawmaker Kazim Uddin Ahmed during question-answer session in the Jatiya Sangsad on Monday (June 19).
Replying to the question of the lawmaker, the state minister said some 3 lakh 55 thousand 854 posts have remained vacant in all ministries/directorates and field administration.
As per the information of the state minister, there are some 14 lakh 9 thousand 606 approved posts. However, some 10 lakh 45 thousand 640 are posts are filled.
Mentioning that it is an ongoing process to fill the vacant posts in the government departments, the state minister said this process is going on properly. Currently, appointment process is on to fill the vacant posts in all ministries/departments/directorates.
Basically, posts remain vacant for the retirement of the employees and creation of the new posts. In some special cases, it is not possible to fill up posts immediately due to court injunctions.
