Former Bangladesh T20 consultant Sridharan Sriram arrived in Dhaka on Friday to renew his contract with the Bangladesh Cricket Board.

The 46-year-old former Indian all-rounder was previously appointed by the BCB last year to look after the T20 side and he worked from the Asia Cup T20 in UAE in August-September till the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia in October-November.

Sriram was seen with the BCB President Nazmul Hassan Papon in the President’s Box during the opening match of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League between Sylhet Sixers and Chattogram Challengers on Friday.

It was learnt that Bangladesh T20 skipper Shakib Al Hasan was also present during the meeting.

The BCB is likely to extend his contract until ICC T20 World Cup in 2024, which is scheduled to be held in West Indies and USA.

Sriram confirmed to The Daily Sun that he would leave Dhaka on Saturday.

Under Sriram, Bangladesh played 13 T20Is where they won four and lost the remaining nine matches.

Bangladesh were finally able to break their T20 World Cup main event losing streak under Sriram as they beat Netherlands and Zimbabwe in the Super 12 stage of the last ICC T20 tournament.
