Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today (18 July) directed authorities concerned to readjust the prices of rods, cement and other construction materials in development projects since the prices have risen.
The directive came at a meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec) chaired by the PM, Planning Minister MA Mannan told reporters.
During the meeting, fifteen projects costing a total of Tk18,010.12 crore were approved.
Some of the approved projects are the Barapukuria-Bogura-Kaliakoir 400 KV line project under the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources; Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Film City (2nd Phase) under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and Sylhet Medical University (SMU) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The Ecnec meeting was held at the NEC conference room in the city's Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area.
