Election Commission (EC) on Thursday announced that Rangpur City Corporation election will be held on December 27.
The full election schedule will be announced on Monday (November 7), said EC secretary Jahangir Alam.
He said this after the 9th commission meeting at the EC building in the capital this morning while chief election commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal on the chair.
Polling will continue from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm through electronic voting machines (EVMs).
In addition, by-polls for some general and vacant seats of five municipalities and some union parishads will be held on that day, the EC secretary added.
The municipalities are Rajshahi's Bagha, Dinajpur's Birol, Panchagarh's Boda, Faridpur's Alfadanga and Natore's Banpara.
