Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Sudnay announced that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the metro rail services on the Agargaon-Motijheel route in Dhaka in October this year.
He made the announcement while speaking at a branding seminar titled "Start of Operation of MRT 6 from Agargaon to Motijheel" Progress, Prospect and Beyond" at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre.
He earlier announced that the section will be inaugurated in November this year.
Prime minister Sheikh Hasina launched the country’s first-ever electricity-powered elevated and air-conditioned rail system on December 28.
Currently, the metro trains are running for 12 hours between 8:00am and 8:00pm every day except Friday.
