Marking the occasion, the Prime Minister also unveiled a commemorative stamp and a banknote.

A train will be able to carry 200 people. The fare for a ride from Uttara to Agargaon is Tk 60 while the minimum fare will be Tk 20.

Initially, people will get the metro rail service for four hours from 8am-12pm. The train will run every 10 minutes. The metro rail will be closed every Tuesday for now.

As the government is starting the operation on a limited scale, it will take 20 minutes to travel the 11.73km distance from Uttara to Agargaon, but soon it will come down to 16-17 minutes.
