BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Friday expressed deep concern, anger and strong condemnation over the killing of journalist Golam Rabbani Nadim, saying that more than 50 journalists have been killed and numerous journalists have been sued and attacked during the rule of present Awami League government.

"Journalist couple Sagar-Runi's murders could not be prosecuted in an era. Besides, the murders are happening one after the other due to the lack of justice for the killing and torture of numerous journalists," he said in a statement.

Fakhrul said, "There is no security to the life and property of people in the country under this dictatorial regime. None is safe from the government. Even, journalists are not spared. People's lives are now extremely insecure."

He said if there was democracy and the rule of law in the country, such kind of incidents would not have happened again.
