Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni has made it clear that there is no scope of deferring the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations this year.

She said the HSC and equivalent examinations will be held in time, because the country's 14 lakh examinees have completed their preparations. So, the HSC examinations will be held on time and all the examinees will take part in it.

The Education Minister stated it while talking to newsmen after inaugurating Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Chattar on the Dakatia river bank of Chandpur Puran Bazar College on early Friday (August 11) afternoon.

Addressing the students agitating for deferring the examinations, Dr Dipu Moni said, "You take part in the examinations in time being kind and considerate to your classmates, because the country's 14 lakh HSC examinees have completed their preparations. The HSC examinations will take place on time."

At the same time, she requested the students not to be panicked over dengue.

Referring to BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam's remark that the foreigners are with BNP, the Education Minister said, "Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been doing politics for the country. So, the country's people are with her. However, we have friends abroad. Those who don't have any faith in people, they make such statements relying on foreigners, because the country's people have rejected these conspirators much earlier for their anti-state activities.

Puran Bazar College principal Ratan Kumar Mazumder, Baburhat College's principal Mosharef Hossain, Dr Mostafizur Rahman, Chandpur Judge Court's PP Ranjit Roy Chowdhury, Faridganj Upazila Parishad chairman Zahidul Islam Roman, Chandpur Sadar Circle's additional police super Yasir Arafat, Sadar Upazila assistant commissioner (Land) Hedayet Ullah Sraban and Awami League leader Abdul Aziz Badal, among others, were present.
