Misbehaviour with B'baria Judge: HC directs to remove video
Court of law

The High Court on Tuesday directed BTRC to remove a video containing the incident of misbehaviour of the lawyers with Brahmanbaria Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-1 Judge Mohammad Faruque.

Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has been asked to remove the video from social media as soon as possible.

An HC bench of Justice JBM Hasan and Justice  Razik-Al-Jalil passed the order.

Earlier, a petition in this regrad has been submitted by Judge Mohammad Faruque before the HC.

According to the petition, on January 2, Brahmanbaria Bar Association president Md Tanvir Bhuiyan, its secretary (Administration) Md Akkas Ali and lawyer Zubayer Islam with some 10-15 lawyers entered the courtroom and misbehaved with Judge Mohammad Faruque while he was conducting his trail procedure.

The Brahmanbaria Bar Association started boycotting the court on January 4, demanding withdrawal of Tanvir, Akkas Ali and Zubayer.

On January 5, the High Court summoned them for misbehaving and scolding Judge Mohammad Faruque and for creating chaos in the courtroom.

The HC bench of Justice JBM Hassan and Justice Razik-Al-Jalil also issued a rule asking Tanvir, Akkas and Zubayer to show cause as to why contempt of court proceedings should not be initiated against them for their misconduct with the Judge and creating chaos in the courtroom.

On January 10, the same HC bench summoned 21 lawyers from Brahmanbaria court, directing them to appear before it on January 23 for shouting slogans against Judge Sharmin Nigar and hampering judicial functions on January 5 and 8 after this bench issued a contempt of court rule and summons order against other three lawyers -- Tanvir, Akkas and Zubayer.

The HC issued the summon orders and contempt of court rules on a suomuto move after Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique sent matters to the bench for their disposals.
