A lawyer from Cumilla has issued a legal notice to halt the promotion, broadcast and screening of actress Pori Moni's web film "Puff Daddy" within three days.

Bangladesh Supreme Court and Cumilla Judge Court lawyer Zainal Abedin Mazhari sent the notice and said, "I did it out of a sense of responsibility. What are our children watching? If you don't talk about it, it will continue."

This notice was sent to the Chairman and Managing Director of Bangladesh Telecommunication Company Limited (BTCL), the Managing Director of Over-the-Top (OTT) platform Bongobd, the Chairman of the Bangladesh Film Censor Board, the Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the Vice Chairman of the Bangladesh Film Censor Board on Sunday (24 September).

Lawyer Zainal Mazhari wrote in the legal notice that OTT platforms are misleading the next generation by spreading obscenity and making easy money in the absence of specific policies.

"We want film production authorities to bring healthy films under the rules. Let our children learn something by watching those movies. What is there to learn in these films? Hopefully, the authorities will look into the matter and stop it," he added.

Earlier, he also sent a legal notice to actress Sadia Jahan Prova regarding her viral scandal 13 years ago and asked her to publicly apologise.
