Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina called upon the Jubo League leaders and activists to go village and cultivate the arable land.

The prime minister, also Awami League president, reached there at 2:35pm. She is attending the rally as the chief guest.

The party's leaders and activists also delivered speeches at the rally.

This is the PM's first-ever appearance in any public rally since the outbreak of Covid-19 in 2020.

Hasina inaugurated the rally releasing balloons and pigeons. Jubo League, the youth wing of the ruling party, organised the rally to celebrating its golden jubilee. Jubo league Chairman Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash and General Secretary Mainul Hossain Khan Nikhil accompanied the PM.

Before that, a musical programme was held at 2:10pm. Actor Chanchal Chaudhury enthralled the crowd with songs.

Several hundreds of people with visual and hearing disabilities joined the rally. They entered through the Suhrawardy Udyan gate opposite the TSC.

Since the morning, people from all over the capital and other parts of the country have been making their way to Suhrawardy Udyan, where Jubo League is holding the rally.

According to Jubo League sources, around 10 lakh supporters will attend the gathering marking the golden jubilee of the Awami League's youth wing.

AL insiders say that the gathering is meant to show the ruling party's strength and popularity and give a fitting reply to BNP's ongoing anti-government movement and series of rallies.
